There are some tricks you can follow to speed up your computer. Follow this article till the end, and you can increase your computer speed for the best performance.
How to speed up Windows 10 Performance?
1. Delete Unnecessary Temporary Files
- Open Run dialogbox or press (Windows + R).
- Type Temp and press enter.
- Press Ctrl + A to select all the files and press Shift+ Delete to delete all the files. If it asks for confirmation, click on Yes. If you get a message that “The action can’t be completed because the file is open….. Close the file and try again”, tick the option Do this for all current items and click on Skip.
- Repeat steps 1 to 3, but this time in step 2, you have to type %Temp% instead of Temp.
- Again repeat above steps 1 to 3, but in step 2, you have to type prefetch instead of Temp.
Note: Click on Continue, If you get the message that You don’t currently have permission to access this folder.
2. Perform Clean Up Memory
- Search Disk Clean-up in the search box next to the start menu.
- Right-click on Disk Clean-up and choose Run as administrator. It will take a few seconds to scan the files and open Disk Cleanup for (C:) windows.
- Click on Ok. It will ask, “Are you sure you want to permanently delete these files?“, Click on Delete Files and wait till the Disk Cleanup utility clean up all the unnecessary files from your machine.
3. Change “Power Options” Settings to “Power Saver”
- Open Control Panel.
- Choose the Category option in “View by:“ and click on Hardware and Sound.
- Click on Power Options and tick Power Option.
4. Disable Unwanted Startup Programs
- Right-click on Start Menu and select Task Manager.
- Click on the Startup tab (Click on More details if you do not find the Startup tab).
- Here disable all those programs you don’t use daily. For example, Skype, Microsoft Edge etc. You can find only those which are installed on your computer.
- Select the program you want to disable and hit the Disable button.
5. Reduce Run Time Service
- Right-click on Start Menu and choose the Run option (This is another way to open Run)
- Type msconfig in the Open: box and press Enter, and it will open the System Configuration dialogbox.
- Go to the Service tab and tick Hide all Microsoft services.
- Click on Disable all and then Ok. Restart your computer to apply these changes. Note: Make sure you save any open files and close all programs before restarting.
